School Projects

These are the school projects I have been working on, with a description of the game and what I did for the project!

Game Design: Rat Race

A Game Design assignment I took on – Making a GDD and a game prototype.

Rat Race: A 2D speedrun platformer taking place in a world where people are born into factories. Living for one purpose: Work. Our main character does not want to live by this rule and has one goal: escape these factories and live a free life.

This is a game demo purely focussed on the GDD, leveraged AI tools to handle music and background art, allowing me to focus entirely on core mechanics and level design.

My roles in this project: Complete control. Game Design, Programming, Art.

Review:

I really liked working on Rat Race, as it was a complete one-person job. I did notice that I really missed a team helping with a lot of features – as I resorted to AI for Music and Background art. Passing Grade: 8-

Group Project: WePlan!

A school group project made for Musical Play Teachers. I took a serious Game Design role within this project.

WePlan:

An evolution in classroom planning. Make sure that any classroom is ready before even knowing what the layout will be. Be prepared for Anything!

Every item has it’s own stats. Place the items on the marked plots and try to balance the scores.  Keep all scores high BUT keep loudness low!

Make any classroom your own, Balance scores well and go for the highest rank! Get up and We Plan!

Entrepreneurship: Throttle!

For one of my electives I chose Entrepreneurship. This perfectly aligns my interest of Marketing and Economy. I had to do a 3-minute pitch about my business idea and write a Start-up Plan.

I came up with the idea of Throttle:

Throttle is a daily guessing game with MotoGP stats, based on Wordle. By guessing a random MotoGP rider, the site gives feedback if the guess is in the right direction or not.

Players fill in the name of a MotoGP rider and the game gives feedback on three ways: Green = Correct, Yellow = Higher/Lower, Gray = Wrong. Players can share their daily scores online to compete with others

I really liked working on this project and I was able to grow my network within the motorsport scene thanks to this. (Passing Grade: 10)
